Yamaha’s popular and proven range of F150 Digital and Mechanical Control outboards now feature a newly designed look and integrated steering, taking these engines to the next level when it comes to power, reliability and control.
Boat owners can now choose from Integrated Hydraulic Steering or Integrated Electro-Hydraulic Steering, with both systems housed in a neat, sealed cylinder unit, which is built into the transom bracket of the engine, rather than being a third-party bolt-on component. This results in a simple and clean rigging set-up, and an uncluttered bilge and transom area, while exposing less components to the elements for improved long-term durability and reliability.
The Integrated Electro-Hydraulic Steering models are fully compatible with Yamaha’s exclusive Helm Master EX Autopilot and Joystick system, a must have system for serious fishermen and skippers who demand ultimate boat control.
This new range of four-cylinder integrated steering models are ideal for all applications, including new boat packages, existing…

Many of Yamaha’s mid-range and high horsepower props come with Yamaha’s exclusive Shift Dampener System (SDS). This system absorbs forces created when an engine shifts in and out of gear, resulting in a quieter, smoother and ‘clunk free’ shifting.
This highly polished, ergonomic, top mounted control offers an extremely smooth and effortless one-hand operation of throttle, shift functions and trim and tilt. The digital electronic control ‘drive-by-wire’ system eliminates the need for mechanical control cables, reducing installation time and costs.
Prop choice makes a huge difference to outboard acceleration, top-end speed, handling and fuel efficiency. That is why Yamaha continues to push the technological boundaries in the design and development of our leading range of high performance props – ensuring every Yamaha outboard performs at its peak.
This new line-up of polished stainless steel props are specifically designed for Yamaha’s powerful inline four-cylinder engines. They include Yamaha’s Shift Dampener System (SDS) for quieter and smoother shifting, without the ‘clunk’ normally associated with shifting gear.
Fully integrated into the outboard bracket, this ‘steer-by-wire’ system is exceptionally smooth, responsive and feature rich, with the ability to work with Yamaha’s exclusive Helm Master™ EX Autopilot and Joystick system. The streamlined and compact design provides more bilge, engine well, and transom space than conventional steering systems and because it is Yamaha engineered, delivers exceptional performance and reliability. This engine comes with an electro helm. Available on select models only.
Available on Mechanical Control (MEC) outboard models, the built-in tilt limiter function automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, preventing the outboard cowling from hitting objects such as bait boards or other parts of the boat.
Available on Digital Electronic Control (DEC) models, Yamaha’s exclusive TotalTilt™ feature provides faster and easier engine tilting, by completely tilting the outboard up from any position with a simple double-push of the “UP” trim/tilt button, or fully tilting the outboard down (until trim ram contact) with a double-push of the “DOWN” trim/tilt button. This system also includes a built-in tilt limiter which automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, to prevent engine contact with other objects.
The cowling has been completely redesigned for a more powerful, elegant and streamlined look. Integrated Electro-Hydraulic Steering models also offer the choice of signature Yamaha grey or pearlescent white finish, with premium looking raised chrome Yamaha graphics. Integrated Electro-Hydraulic model shown.
This optional feature is available to Integrated Electro Hydraulic Steering outboard models that are matched with Yamaha’s exclusive Helm Master EX joystick boat control system. The light mounts directly in the rear apron of the outboard, providing a visual warning that the boat is actively in one of the Helm Master EX SetPoint modes.
Completely redesigned with greater ergonomic comfort and new capabilities, including: Speed Control (push-button up or down), Pattern Shift (for slower than idle speed trolling), Neutral Hold (for engine warm up or additional charge for batteries), Station Selector (for selector more then one helm) and Engine Trim. Suitable for DEC models only.
In addition to all the features on the single handle digital electronic control, the twin handle control also provides: Single Lever control (for controlling multiple engines with one lever), Centre Engine select (for selecting the centre engine only on triple and quad outboard set-ups) and the ability to Trim all or each individual engine separately. Suitable for DEC models only.
The direct ignition system, with plug cap and ignition coil, provides higher reliability and increased performance.
This alternator delivers more power: 50 amps at wide open throttle, producing a full 22 amps at only 600 rpm which means there is sufficient output to keep charging the battery even at low RPM.
The crankshaft design is offset 10mm from the centre of cylinder for more efficient transfer of power to the crankshaft.
Featuring the same streamlined look as the Electro-Hydraulic Steering model, these models combine conventional hydraulic helm and lines with a built-in hydraulic cylinder. Simple in design yet offering all the space-saving, premium benefits of integrated steering, this system offers a fresh look and smooth, precise non-powered control. As the hydraulic lines are connected directly to the fixed bracket and steering cylinder, there is none of the usual wear and tear that is seen on traditional hydraulic systems. Hydraulic helm and lines purchased separately.
