The Wolverine RMAX 1000 XT-R delivers class-leading power and smooth performance, thanks to its powerful 999cc, DOHC, eight-valve, parallel twin engine with an aggressive 8,500 rpm redline and legendary Yamaha durability.

A new On-Command® four-wheel drive system now includes Turf Mode which unlocks the rear differential for a tighter turning radius and minimal turf damage, ideal for preserving your grass during household chores or any time you find yourself on delicate turf. The updated front differential also offers quicker locking engagement and disengagement.

The Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R’s class-leading Electric Power Steering takes a big step forward for 2025 with an all-new selectable EPS system that allows drivers to select between three different steering modes to match driving preference via a new dash-mounted switch. HIGH mode offers more assistance, best for low-speed maneuvers and relaxed riding. STANDARD mode is a great balance of light steering and positive feedback for trail riding. And LOW mode provides less assist for greater feedback and a sportier feel that’s perfect for higher speed riding. There’s also a differential lock setting that offers maximum steering assist when the front differential lock is engaged.

Revised for 2025, the Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R’s advanced heavy-duty suspension is designed to provide maximum articulation in low speed situations, achieving both chassis control and bump absorption when trail riding and maximum bottoming resistance at higher speeds. The wide-arc A-arms paired with the FOX® 2.0 QS3 shocks deliver 360mm of travel up front and an amazing 430mm of travel in the rear. The FOX® 2.0 QS3 shocks can be easily switched—without tools—between three custom positions to enhance comfort during relaxed driving, increase damping for normal trail riding and maximise damping during sport driving.

The Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R features a tilting cargo bed to simplify hauling duties. Built with hydraulic assistance and a robust latch system, the bed transports up to 272kg with multiple steel tie-down points to secure cargo or attach accessories. Add in a full 907kg of towing capacity through a standard 2-inch receiver, and the Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R is ready to get to work when you are.

An all-new Yamaha Adventure Pro System takes your journey to the next level with a new seven-inch full-color display neatly integrated into the dash. This advanced adventure tool provides connectivity via Bluetooth or USB, and is loaded with features including navigation compatibility, phone and audio controls, all-new GPS mapping and PIN-lockable geo-fencing, customisable home screen, new drive-mode screen, and a rearview camera accessory option, all offering Yamaha owners added comfort, capability and confidence out on the trail.

Premium cut-and-sew comfort seats offer exceptional seating position for a planted feel and reduced fatigue, which is essential for occupants to enjoy the driving experience. The Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R keeps occupants comfortable and secure with its wide bolstering and additional leg room for larger occupants. The driver’s seat has increased adjustability compared to previous Wolverine models, combined with an easy-to-adjust six-position seat belt for added comfort.

Driver and passenger comfort features include a tilt steering wheel with 17 degrees of adjustment, and a new adjustable passenger handhold with a robust design that won’t get clogged with mud or dirt. Furthering driver comfort, the new throttle and brake pedals have been optimised for comfort, while a new strategically-designed brake master cylinder cover helps keep the mud and water off the driver’s feet.

Featuring the best automotive-style driver and passenger soft touchpoints in its class, the Wolverine RMAX2 1000 XT-R provides a more relaxed experience even over rough terrain. The steering wheel and passenger handhold have the top shape and soft-touch in the market while providing a quality feel way beyond the competitors’ hard plastic. Large storage optimised to provide protection from the elements, the Wolverine RMAX 1000 XT-R features a sealed 2.7L centre console, a 5.5L sealed glove box, and centre console cubbies. Both occupants can also quickly access their belongings with driver and passenger storage shelves containing secure rubber mats to keep items in place and two easy-to-reach cup holders.

For accessibility in low light conditions, the Wolverine RMAX 1000 XT-R features an interior light package to easily navigate controls. The Proven Off-Road technology of Yamaha’s Ultramatic® system is unmatched in the industry. The CVT system utilises a centrifugal wet clutch purpose-built to withstand the power from the 999cc engine, and a constant tension belt system for tackling obstacles in high rev range without fear of damaging the belt. When more torque is needed, the low gear is perfect for challenging conditions. The robust CVT system means less time switching gears and more fun taking on any terrain.

Yamaha’s proven durability is highlighted by the durable surface treatments and carbon steel construction of the front differential and rear gear case. It is can also be seen in the large 62mm front and 72mm rear DAC (Double Angular Contact) wheel bearings, forged sway bar links, wide pitch A-arms and single stamped A-arms, and large vehicle-specific ball joints.
